This mission was built in 1786 and was the 10th mission to be built by the Spaniards in what is now known as the state of California. Across from this mission is the historic park which consists of a large rose garden, grist mill and portions of the original aqueduct. There's a small fee to see the displays inside and take a tour of the mission.
During the year there are several festivals held here including a street painting festival, called I Madonnari and The Little Fiesta which celebrates the Spanish culture.
This is a beautiful mission with mountains to one side and a view out to the ocean and the Channel Islands on a clear, sunny day.
