Parkdale’s restaurant scene is constantly pulsating, morphing into a slightly new beast every few months. Right now, tiki seems to be the word on everyone’s lips. While Miss Thing’s doesn’t wish to be claimed as a tiki bar, the restaurant does modernize the concept, putting its own spin on it.
The space — formerly a well-known club, Wrongbar — has been outfitted with rich green walls painted with gigantic hibiscus flowers and tropical touches. It kinda feels like Don Draper is back in Hawaii. Food-wise, the Pan Asian and Polynesian dishes have been getting plenty of press. In terms of cocktails, I sipped on their tasty version of a piña colada, housed in a coconut shell and topped with a wee umbrella. If you’re with a few pals, best to ask about the secret drink which comes served in a handsome golden pineapple.
