Lured by the spouting water of the oldest fountain in Greenland, this young boy enjoyed refreshing drinks and a lot of play time at this Qaqortoq, Greenland landmark.
I was fortunate to visit the small community of Quqortoq as part of a Princess cruise. Although there are only about 3,000 residents in this community it is the largest town in Southern Greenland and the fourth largest in the country. It is extremely picturesque and the sight of so many colorful houses dotting the hillsides is a memory that stays with you.
It is easy to spend several hours here wandering around and exploring the town. Of note are the many stone sculptures carved into rocks and boulders in this charming town. I enjoyed sitting at the fountain too, watching the children play. The fountain depicts whales spouting water out of their blowholes.
