Deco'd Out in South Beach
One thing I didn’t expect upon arrival in South Beach is the massive amount of Art Deco architecture lining its streets. With about 750 Art Deco buildings within a square mile, South Beach is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations, according to our tour guide with the Miami Design Preservation League. The organization’s daily tour is worth the $20 fee and provides insights not just into the characteristics of this architectural style, but also the history of this beachside neighborhood.
