Boutique Cinema in the Heart of South Beach
A small intimate theater built by Carl Fischer in 1927 has been restored and renovated into an amazing cinema, gallery, bookstore, library and cafe in South Beach. It's the base of the Miami Beach Film Society, under whose aegis the cinema screens independent and experimental movies and film classics to a seated audience of just 50. Art exhibits hang on the walls, and there may be music, a mini-festival or live performances. One annual festival is the Florida Room, a series of documentaries grouped under a theme.
