Sometimes type leads the way
This is the corner of a building on Geldmuntstraat. It's just about at eye level. The sign caught my eye, mostly because of the typography. I couldn't tell you why, but sometimes I let type lead me to restaurants. Perhaps it's an attention to detail thing -- if they pay attention to type, they may well pay attention to the details of cooking. Merveilleux was indeed a miracle. I had their "Bristol salad," described as: "3 toasten met foie gras, gerookte zalm en garnaaltjes." Google Translate tells me this means 3 slices of toast with foie gras, smoked salmon, and shrimp. Close enough.
