In a city known for its port, I diverted from the norm and went in search of craft beer. I stumbled upon Mercearia Das Flores and it could not have been a better surprise! It was small, offering only a few seats, but what it lacked in space was made up for by the amazing menu consisting of locally made cheeses, meats, sardines and more. I enjoyed the cured meat and cheese tasting plate, which was served with warm mini toasts, followed by toast with cheese, piri piri jam and salad and for dessert the sheep's milk cheese with fig syrup. I was also able to try Sovina, a Portuguese craft beer. The service was exceptional and you almost felt like you were in someone's cozy kitchen!
