River Cruising on Mekong
Cruise in the waterways of Mekong, the Nine Dragons river as its proudly called in Vietnam is indeed the best way to experience Vietnam and Cambodia. Popularity of river cruising on Mekong has been increasing for the recent years and there are very strong reasons for that. There are few things that attract cruisers to Mekong. One of them is the natural beauty and wildlife and uncommon for most visitors sceneries of daily life of people living in Delta. And the other thing is of course the stunning views on temples, floating markets and river town and villages. You normally pass two countries while cruising on Mekong – Cambodia and Vietnam. It’s up to you whichever type, style and duration of the trip to choose, you can definitely find an option according to your preferences. The most common cruises are either 3 or 7-days long. In 3-days cruise you will cross cities like Siem Reap, cruise through floating village Chnok Trou, Kampong Chnang, Kompong Tralech, Koh Chen and close your experience at Phnom Penh. In 7-days cruise your itinerary is much more extended and you will be able to cover the same route as in 3-days trip plus additional places like Kompong Tralach, Phnom Penh, Chau Doc, Vinh Long, Cai Be, My Theo and finish at Ho Chi Minh City. The best time for cruise on Mekong is between November and February. The water level stays high at that time even though the rainy season is over, temperatures are much cooler so it’s easier to stand the hot weather and climate.
