Like the name says: just braised or slow-roasted meats, served on ciabatta buns. They are known for their hand-carved porchetta, but I order the daily special—that is, if I can get there before 2 p.m. The restaurant is first come, first served, so be prepared to line up. The Best Sandwiches in Vancouver: Meat & Bread
Who doesn't love a sandwich? Meat & Bread is an obvious name, but this lunch spot takes one thing and does it extremely well. The porchetta is tops for carnivores, but the meatball sandwich doesn't disappoint either. I also love the soups and lemonades. This place was a top recommendation from food industry insiders when I was in Vancouver.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the offerings of this gem. Had wine, split two different kinds of sammies, and soaked up the hipsterness.
I like these things immensely > $. Minimalist and design-minded decor. Delicious. Cute employees.
Also > High brow coffee shop kitty corner on Cambie at the Cambie location (there's another one on Pender St) called... Revolver. Google search "Meat and Bread Vancouver Porchetta Recipe." You're welcome.
Do it, love it, and then be not as impressed by it when asked by your friends and secretly eat there twice a week. I won't tell.
