The Masaya Volcano National Park includes two volcanoes, five craters, a fun little visitor center and miles of great hiking and biking.
The eruptions over the years have had a dramatic impact on the surroundings with rocks and volcanic ash covering the area surrounding the volcanoes. The nature is rough yet peaceful and amazing flora/fauna springing up everywhere.
Visitors can peek over the edge at the Masaya Volcano, and look into the impressive crater, but don't hang out to long as the crater is continuously emitting smoke and sulfur gases.
From this central spot it is possible to start hiking to other craters or viewpoints. Be sure to walk a bit up to get a view of the smoking volcano and the fascinating surroundings.
