A trip to the Amalfi Coast can be overwhelming. So much to eat, drink and see. To make it a bit easier, here is a quick guide for a day on Capri.
Each of the major towns along the Amalfi coast conveniently offer day ferries to Capri all under 50 min. Take your pick from Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi. From most ports, you can leave around 8:30am, whereas others are offered as late as 11:15am so you can still enjoy your early morning cappuccino and croissant. Round trip tickets are recommended at approximately $40 EUR per person.
Pulling into Capri, you will arrive at the center of Marina Grande. Hop on the town cable car to take a ride up to the center of Capri or better yet, rent a scooter to explore the island including the small city of Annacapri. With a tight schedule on a day trip, here are a few things not to miss.
Marina Piccola: On the south side of the island, take a dip in the water while relaxing at the Marina Beach Club. Grab two oceanside loungers and relax for a few hours with a pristine view of the iconic Faraglioni Rocks.
Via Camerelle: The popular, designer store lined street is perfect for peering into windows at top fashions and high-end shoes. Keep an eye out for Canfora, the famous handmade sandal shop best known for fitting Jackie Kennedy during her trips to Capri.
Capri Drink: While walking the streets of Capri center, stop at one of the local granita stands for a frozen lemon slush topped with freshly-squeezed orange juice. Yum!
