Behind a façade of rusted sheet metal, MAO Livehouse serves as a gathering place for music fans, especially of rock in all its forms, from punk to funk to metal. The musical slate includes visiting and local bands, with shows about 20 or so nights per month.
Don't expect fancy digs. Up front is the bar/lounge, and a drinks menu that won't blow your budget, while inside is a stage fronted by a sloped floor that when the crowds turn out can be considered cramped or cozy depending on your perspective—let's call it intimate. This is a laid-back place to catch a few bands, have a few beers and then, if not ready to go home, check out a few of the bars, cafes, and restaurants within an easy walk.
