The malecón, a seaside esplanade spooling out the length of 12 blocks, is one of the liveliest and loveliest places in Puerto Vallarta. Catch a breathtaking performance of the Voladores de Papantla, nicknamed the Flying Birdmen for their dramatic "flights" from the top of a 15-meter (50-foot) pole. Visitors also love to walk along the malecón and take in the public art. Since 1976, when the seahorse statue was installed, more than a dozen sculptures have been added along the walkway. They're perfect PV photo ops.
