Afternoon Storm Surge
Once in a while you catch a shot that is completely unexpected - one of those rare occasions when everything plays out right, you snap, and you have a keeper. During this particularly stormy afternoon, I was the only one foolish enough to be around the Malecon. Normally the area is packed with locals strolling and driving along this beautiful stretch of breakfront along the Caribbean. But today, the surf was fiery - 20 feet waves at least. Instead of gently lapping against the wall as usual, the sea was surging over, causing flooding in many areas. I waited patiently, and after thirty minutes or so, I caught this lone driver splashing and speeding down the road.
