We spent much of our first day on Mahé driving around the island, more-or-less lost and low on gasoline (rental cars in the Seychelles come with empty tanks, something we hadn’t noticed). Thus, by the time Happy Hour came around, we were in serious need of some relaxation. A beach bar with a good view of the sunset seemed like to be just the ticket.
Amazingly, it proved difficult to find a good beach bar in the less-developed area of the island where we were staying. Afraid that we would still be driving around looking for a place to watch the sunset while the sun was actually setting, we simply pulled off the road at a west facing beach and walked out onto the sand.
That’s part of the beauty of the Seychelles – the perfect spot is probably wherever you are!
