Israelis developed the first practical surface drip irrigation emitter. Nowhere are the fruits (literally) of that work more evident than at the Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem, Israel. Visit The Shuk, as the market is known to locals, on an empty stomach and plan to spend time leisurely grazing. We think the best hummus in Israel can be found here. The produce, though, is the star of the Shuk, vine ripened, deep hued and pretty irresistible.
