It’s all about ancient mosaics in the market town of Madaba, where on the floor of the Byzantine church of Saint George, some two million colored tiles were used to create a map of the Holy Land. Fine details of fish and a gazelle being pursued by a lion stand out in the Madaba Map, which dates from the 6th century. En route to Madaba, the Hammamat Ma’in hot springs are under a waterfall in the hills above the Dead Sea.
