Lucidity Festival, founded in 2012, is a transformational arts and music festival that is held for three days at Live Oak Campground, Santa Barbara.
As the name implies, the festival invites attendees to become lucid, or to experience clarity, realize their full potential, let go of fear, to learn about themselves, others and connect on an intrinsic level. Lucidity creates opportunities for growth, participation and collaboration through workshops, art installations, performances, vendors, stages and camping.
A variety of workshops are offered in movement, healing, sustainability, music, lifestyle and more. My party partook in a healing ceremony, a ritual to the Egyptian goddess Hathor.
The art, creativity and energy at Lucidity is phenomenal. I met a girl who gave away face paintings to anyone; her spirit of giving made it special.
Performers, from aerialists, to jugglers and characters like mermaids give performances throughout the festival grounds. The slacklining crew that was doing flips 30+ feet in the air had me in awe.
There is ample opportunity to discover new music and types of dance. My favorite moment of music and dance was facilitated by Dixon’s Violin, a violin soloist. The crowd came together in a large circle to dance with each other, a big family hug.
Camping is a very large element of Lucidity and an opportunity to connect with the earth and nature. Being a little dusty and out of your comfort zone can help you embrace transformation.
