We had left our cruise ship in Venice. It was very early in the a.m., and my sister was ill. We got to the hotel we booked in Mastre, only to be told our reservation was cancelled and no rooms available. The clerk was not at all accommodating. We asked our cab driver to take us to the nearest town to the airport. He took us to Treviso.
It turned out to be our lucky day. It was the LOCANDA de RENZO. a lovely B&B. The cost of a double room was 50euro less than the other hotel. The elderly man (owner) behind the desk gave us a lovely double room with the use of a courtyard which we enjoyed The room was large, double beds, well appointed and had a bathroom and was very comfortable.
Claudio, one of the sons, spoke excellent English and was more than helpful, as was the entire family, Mother, Father, other Brother and Paulo the part-time help.
My sister was hospitalized and they showed such concern for her, they even took me several times to the hospital in their car. They helped me get around by myself, they helped with our plane reservations, phone calls, e-mails home and many, other things.
The offer a price fix dinner every evening. the food and service is exceptional. Breakfast was included.
This is a family run business of 50 years.
Although there isn't a frig or microwave in the room, we got along quite well, using their kitchen facilities when necessary.
Treviso is a lovely town and is a beautiful city, well worth seeing.
