Lloyd's of London

Marvel at old-meets-new architecture
Walk through the Victorian Leadenhall market (from the Gracechurch street entrance) and as you exit out the back you will instantly be struck by the juxtaposition of a futuristic-looking steel structure. This is the Lloyd's building. An award-winning design by Richard Rogers, it today houses the Lloyd's of London insurance market. Sometimes known as the 'Inside Out Building', many of it's ventilation ducts, elevators etc. are visible from the exterior. I love to photograph the building with the market in the shot to emphasise the contrast, or if you gaze across the main street you can spot a glimpse of the now iconic 'Gherkin' building.
