Liwan Museum is a window into the past of a wealthy residential district in historical Guangzhou. It celebrates Xiguan culture, which many Cantonese consider typical of Guangzhou. The museum is divided into two parts. The first is a traditional grey-brick, two-story home and contains many of the things a family may have owned 100-200 years ago. The second building is not as interesting. It has a lot of local handicrafts and musical instruments, but no English. Liwan museum is open everyday from 08:30am to 17:30pm. Tickets are 8RMB and can be purchased from the ticket office by the canal.
