Little India

Singapore is full of walkable districts and none is more lively than Little India, with its concentration of shops and temples. Developed largely by Tamil immigrants, today many Subcontinent ethnic groups thrive in this area, which is centered along Serangoon Road. The late-19th-century Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is bursting with colorful deity statues. All year round, various celebrations take place in the area, such as Diwali, the fall festival of lights.
