Remodeled in 2008, the Limelight is one of the newest hotels in downtown Aspen. Originally it was the site of a popular bar that served the outlaws and skiers in the 40’s then transitioned into a lively nighclub with music under new ownership. In 1962, the Paas family bought the bar and started to expand it to a lodge as well. It has come a long way from its days as a bar. The rooms have contemporary feel that incorporate the nature surrounding Aspen and the views from the balcony will take your breath away. The lobby is a spacious, open area with high ceilings and windows that extend to the floor and look out on to Aspen Mountain. They serve lighter fare like pizza and have a small bar. All the staff is extremely nice—especially the bartenders. They always seem to have a smile on their face and aim to please. After a long day, it is always nice to soak in the Jacuzzi while the kiddos play in the pool.
