Explore Lighthouse Park
Lighthouse Park is one of my favorite destinations in all of Canada; reaching this British Columbia gem requires a short walk through stunning virgin rainforest, where remarkable Douglas fir, hemlock and cedar - some more than 200 feet tall and more than 500 years old - lord above all. The Point Atkinson Lighthouse, built in 1875, is listed as a National Historic Site of Canada. Yet despite the park's beauty and the iconic stature of the lighthouse, you can have it all to yourself if you arrive early in the morning - which just so happens to be the perfect time to view this most stunning of Canadian scenes.
