With nothing short of a fine grouping of patrician houses from the 17th and 18th centuries along a UNESCO Heritage Canal, the Herengracht, to house it within the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, the elegant Librije's Zusje restaurant is a culinary treasure.
Librije's Zusje (little sister) is a companion to the Michelin 3-star De Librije Restaurant in Zwolle, but she shines on her own with two Michelin stars. Executive Chef Sidney Schutte, a former chef at De Librije has performed a coup in achieving his two stars within seven months of the opening in 2014 along with the dedication of Sascha Speckemeier, Restaurant Manager, F & B Manager Geralda Joziasse and staff.
As for the food? Forget everything you know about eating and simply place yourself in their hands. You will now be dining. The intuitive service is just about flawless but not stuffy. The multi-course creations come out from the kitchen as sculptural creations and tempt even before the first bite. Wine pairings are skillful and recommended but certainly your favorite bottle from their excellent cellar can be brought to table.
A true ethereal experience, as in fleeting and over too soon; this is one evening that will not leave your memory. Reservations in advance a must.
