When we first arrived for tea (I was desperately craving a coffee + unhappy to settle for tea), I was disappointed to see it priced at 4 euros. But that 4 euros equated to about 4 cups of delicious high quality tea leaves served in a pot, with a tiny piece of cake on a spoon. High quality tea leaves in a beautiful little room, with quirky decorations – more than worth the 4 euros! I discovered that the tea is Kusmi, so I can buy it online and relive my Montpellier tea salon experience for the rest of my life, no matter where I go.
The staff are incredibly friendly as well. The man who served us both times was so kind, funny, and spoke very good English.
My boyfriend and I visited twice (probably the most romantic place in Montpellier!), and both times I enjoyed a pot of St. Petersburg. I made the declaration that if I could have tea of that quality every single day, I would never desire coffee again. It was delicious.
The salon is decorated with antiques that are also for sale – a clever way to blend two businesses together to draw in customers who may not have been interested in one or the other.
That tea date in Montpellier will forever be in my heart.
