Located right in the heart of Old Montreal and literally right beside Notre Dame Cathedral, Le St. Sulpice is a pleasant surprise of a hotel. When you walk into the hotel, you’re greeted kindly and you can smell the sweet scent of mango. I was already happy at that point.
On a cold winter’s day, when you get up to your room and see a fireplace (not to mention a few bottles of wine in the room that are right there available for purchase), it’s an even more pleasant surprise. Peeking outside the window, I saw the rooftop and exterior of Hotel Nelligan across the street. I was quite happy that I was close to everywhere I needed to be - right down the street from the Old Port, Spa Scandinave, Bota Bota, Olive et Gourmando, PHI Centre, Club Chasse et Peche, Bar Philemon, Notre Dame, and a short subway or cab ride to up and coming neighbourhoods, Griffintown and St. Henri.
The bed was phenomenal, the little things like a handwritten note, a luggage tag and L’Occitane hand cream were thoughtful gifts. On top of all of that, the staff were superb. I had lost my iphone and they did everything to find it for me --including calling the taxi bureau to find my taxi driver-- and they got it back for me! This hotel is definitely worth the splurge and the location can’t be beat!
