The port of Le Havre plays an important role in the formation of Impressionism, for it was Monet’s painting of the port—“Impression, Sunrise”—that gave the art movement its name. Uniworld guests will get the chance to explore the city and view the sights that inspired Monet and the many other impressionists who depicted the port in their works. Along the way, keep an eye out for architecture that evokes the post-WWII Modernist style, for which Le Havre is also known.
