Once the morgue for the City of Paris, le 104 is now a lively art and culture “factory” with ateliers for artists, a charity shop, book store, restaurant, cafés, food trucks and a vintage Fotomaton. A creative vibe fills the air, actively fed by resident artists exploring dance, music, theater, magic and a variety of visual art. With temporary exhibitions throughout the year, there is always a show going on as local youth of every age come to practice their routines, be it hip hop or juggling, tango or Chinese fan dances, there is room for everyone. An exchange library is a regular feature offering free books to those who leave one behind. There are benches and lawn chairs for indoor rainy day picnics, or just an afternoon nap.
