The woman sitting across from me shouted, watch out for the roll. Quickly turning around, I see one of the servers tossing a hot roll to the woman, as she makes a great catch. I remind myself I am at Lamberts Café in Ozark, Missouri known as “The Only Home of the Thrown Rolls.”
I order the grill salmon, slice peaches, and applesauce. While waiting for the meal to arrive I try my hand at catching a large freshly baked roll, along with the pass a rounds, like fried okra.
The dinner, served in a skillet, with a large piece of bourbon molasses glazed, grilled salmon.
The salmon is moist, and flavorful, applesauce is chunky like grandma use to make, and the peach slices are large, making for a great meal.
Lambert’s is a fun restaurant for any age, the staff is very attentive, portions are generous, and the menu has a large selection of southern style cooking.
