Calcified birds of Lake Natron
Lake Natron is a caustic, mineral-rich soda lake fed by hot springs in Northern Tanzania - home to Flamingos who nest there due to its inhospitable nature to predators. The most fascinating, otherworldly thing about this lake are the solitary, mummified birds which can be occasionally found along its shoreline, calcified over a long period of time and turned into fossils.
