Lake Acajatuba

With the immensity of the Amazon, its bayous (called igapós) stretch deep into the jungle and support all sorts of nature and adventure day trips that depart from Manaus. You might try piranha-fishing from a canoe or head to the right bank of the Rio Negro and the nearby popular Paricatuba waterfall. There, Lake Acajatuba (really a giant bayou) is known for its pink dolphins—spot them from your boat or dive in and swim alongside them.
