A three-day journey that included a catamaran trip to the glaciers where we heard and saw the glacier calve, gave us the opportunity to drink our beverage of choice with ice thousands of years old. The first leg of the journey was to the Puyuhuapi Lodge and Spa, a three-hour journey by catamaran to a remote location. The multiple pools (variety of temperatures) were perfect for a day of relaxing. The next part (and highlight) was the trip to the San Rafael glacier, and the final leg took us back to land and a lovely small fishing village before we headed further south to Patagonia. The Patagonia Express offers a firsthand experience of the immense glacier from a small zodiac boat. With a limit of 56 passengers, the high-speed catamaran offers a bit more intimate experience of this part of Chile than the large cruise ships do. And don't forget your drink poured over glacial ice!
