Laguna de Chacahua

Chacahua, Oax., Mexico

Laguna de Chachua is filled with dinoflagellate, a bioluminescent plankton that glows when agitated, making the lagoon’s waters light up an electric blue at night. The place is difficult to find and get to, and once you’re there, it’s difficult to get good photographs of the phenomenon. But like they say in Mexico, you have to live it to believe it.
