La Lucha is Lima’s favorite sandwich shop. This is the place where the Limeños go when they want to eat well but are in a hurry, for a night cap, to hang out with friends during the week or don’t have enough time for a sit-down lunch. It’s a charming shop, the service is good and the sandwiches are unique - you won’t find any traditional recipes. They are all criollos, which is the name for the local food. The chicharrón and the lechón a la leña are two great options. You should try the fries too, it’s one of the most famous in town, made with papa huayro, a Peruvian potato. To drink, you can choose from juices made with local fruits, such as lúcuma or granadilla, or even coffee.
