Celebrate like a Madrileño
Madrid may already feel like a 24-hour-a-day party, but twice a year, the festivities get more intense during the city's patron saint celebrations. Of the two, the Fiesta de la Paloma, held from August 7-15 in the La Latina neighborhood, is the biggest, with an outdoor carnival, stalls selling churros and grilled sheep intestines (don't ask), and lots of locals decked out like chulapos and chulapas to dance the schotis.
