If you're in Paris during the wintertime, you're obligated to visit at least one of the many magical Christmas Markets set up across the city. Although often overlooked because of its location in the business sector of Paris, the La Defense Christmas Market is positively enchanting and absolutely worth a wander. With the Grande Arche as its backdrop, this market emanates holiday spirit thanks to its traditional wooden chalets, adorable shops, and endless strings of fairy lights.
If not to sit on Santa's lap (between 12-5pm everyday!) then go because this market doesn't get quite as busy as its cousins along the Jardins du Trocadero, Champs-Élysées, and Place Saint Sulpice--especially after the workday ends. Head there in the evening for the smallest crowds and best view of the Grande Arche lit up at night. Grab yourself a piping cup of spiced wine, and voila, vous avez une expérience inoubliable.
