Many will have heard of La Cevicheria thanks to a visit by Anthony Bourdain in 2009. The location has not lost any of it's charm in the last 4 years. In our very warm July trip to Colombia for a close friend's wedding, La Cevicheria was an oasis. With accessible food for the less adventurous and a seafood menu that goes far past ceviche, we found ourselves at La Cevicheria almost daily. Although well known for its fare, La Cevicheria also has what we would declare the best mojitos in the old city. Beware their deceiving strength! When I think back on how impressed we were at the friendliness of Cartagena, the beauty of the walled city, and the rich cultural history of a historic cross-roads, my mind inevitably wanders to the tangy ceviche and mojitos that permeated our experience.
