Lots of Fun, Great Food, and Friendly People
Last year my little niece wanted to go to "the restaurant with the surf boards". So I took her to the Kona Beach Cafe. The cafe is located at 3340 N.E. Pineapple Ave., in Jensen Beach. We really had a pleasant surprise. What a spot. There is a covered patio, a sunny deck, and a rustic bar. The entire area is like a little tropical paradise. There are palm trees, and tropical plants that enclose the cafe. This casual restaurant is very popular and we soon found out why. In this wonderful setting we had lunch. I had a salad with shrimp. My niece had fish tacos. The food was freshly prepared and was delicious. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The menu offers fish tacos, hot dogs, salads, Angus burgers, and much more. There is live music, karaoke, and surf movies. Check on-line for times. The owner, Frank Wacha, walked around and made sure his guests were satisfied and happy. He was a very friendly host and we chatted about the history of Jensen Beach. His family is one of the prominent and respected families of Jensen Beach. Mr. Wacha had been bitten by a shark while surfing off Jensen Beach and showed my niece the small, fresh scars when she asked about them. The Kona Cafe is open Tuesday- Sunday for lunch, dinner, and a very popular happy hour. I've enjoyed this cafe each time I visited. The atmosphere reminds you of the Florida Keys...so laid back and lots of fun plus good, fresh, unique food and drink. This is a little gem in Jensen Beach.

Very bad experience
I was at Kona Beach Cafe last night with three friends. It was the first time for 3 of us, that includes me. The service was terrible, the drink order is the only thing that came quickly. We waited over 45 min or longer for the food. One of my friends ordered wings and they were not fully cooked. I have gluten/wheat allergy. I ordered shrimp taco with corn taco, they were stale. Nothing in the taco beside grilled shrimp and lettuce. It was so dry. The rice and beans as a side, was dry and tasteless. The fans that were blowing were filthy with dust . It was an overall horrible dining experience, I would never return there again.
