Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park
The Klondike Gold Rush lasted only two years, but it created a colorful legend that still draws people to Alaska today. The Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park commemorates this history, encompassing much of Skagway, nearby Dyea and even part of Seattle, where Stampeders began their journey. In Skagway, visitors can join free, ranger-guided tours of the town’s historic district, which includes preserved and restored buildings like the Mascot Saloon and the Lynch & Kennedy Dry Goods store.
