I’m no espresso connoisseur, but I know what I like and I like the Cookie Crumble Café up in Kleinburg.
Then again, once you’ve bitten into one of the homemade pastries sold here (I’m thinking the butter tart that looks to weigh in at around two pounds), it won’t much matter to you how the espresso is. But given the fact that the proprietor goes by the name Francesca Pullano, there's no chance the place will turn out a bad espresso.
The offerings are as appealing as the ambiance. Inside, it's light and airy with lots of windows. Outside, black wrought iron tables and chairs look out onto the main street. Wainscoting adds a touch of class to the décor, and local art (for sale) decorates the walls.
Add any kind of Italian caffeine concoction you could wish for and you’ve got the perfect café (but they also do breakfasts and lunches—to-die-for quiche, for example).
But I still can’t say “another butter tart” in Italian.
