Ride a bike to one of the most beautiful campsites in California!
Just outside San Francisco, and stones throw ( albeit a good arm), from Golden gate Bridge is Kirby Cove Campground. This is such a gem that hardly anyone knows about, which affords spectacular views of SF, the bridge and bay...
This shot is from above the dirt track leading down to campsite, which you can drive down or ride your camp-gear laden bike down as well! Pack your tent, water, cooking gear, grab your amigo and ride that bike across the bridge from SF; take your first left after bridge up Conzelman Rd about quarter-mile. On left is a gated dirt track which is padlocked, and with your reservation you'll get the combo in order to open. Ride down the curvy dirt track about a mile to four amazing campsites nestled in frove of trees, a short distance from the beach and grand views of beneath the GG bridge. If you drive a vehicle, you park in parking lot at bottom of dirt track and there are wheelbarrows to bring in your gear to campsites. only 10 people are allowed at a time, so make a reservation and experience this campsite when you can! Firepits and restroom, but bring your own water/firewood. Also bring earplugs for the fog horns at night....
