This 1,400-acre park offers some great Alaska opportunities: You can observe wildlife including moose and bears, take a hike or mountain bike down a winding trail or see Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley) and Mt. Foraker on a clear day. There are also great views of Mt. Susitna across Cook Inlet and Fire Island. Locals say it has one of the best spots for viewing sunsets. Many ski teams, including the U.S. Olympic and Special Olympics cross-country skiing teams have competed here.
