West of Dublin in the heart of Ireland sits the country's oldest working still and the oldest continually licensed distillery in the world. Formerly Locke's Distillery, Locke's is now the name of the museum that contains some of the original equipment used when the distillery was founded in 1757.
The working distillery is now known as Kilbeggan Distillery named after the town that helped save it from falling into ruin after it was closed in 1957. Tours are either guided or self-guided and end with complimentary samples. A restaurant is on site as well. Slainte!
