Love music? Bicycling? Over Memorial Day weekend you can experience Missouri's bicycling and music festival on the Katy Trail.
The Katy Trail is part of a network of rails to trails projects (turning old railroad lines into biking and hiking trails) throughout the United States. The Katy Trail in Missouri is one of the longest of the projects at over 200 miles from start to finish. Most of the ride is along the Missouri river and follows the path of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Pedaler's Jamboree takes place on the portion of the trail between Columbia and Booneville, MO, which is also one of the most scenic parts of the trail. Live music, food and beer gardens are set up at the towns along the way. A concert takes place at Kemper Park in Booneville on Saturday night before riding back to Columbia on Sunday.
