Sometimes travel photography is being in the right place at the right time, but it seems to me that the Gulf of Thailand has an unbelievably high rate of spectacular sunsets! We spent more than three weeks island hopping around the gulf and almost every sunset was memorable.
While staying in Phuket, which was are starting point in Thailand, we rented a motorbike for the weekend to explore the beaches of the area. The coast is magnificent and at times quite remote and baron which is hard to believe if you've previously visited Patong Beach and seen the crowds there!
Kata Beach is a great place to head for dinner or a sunset drink on the beach. We were famished after a long day of beach combing and found a magnificent restaurant right on the beach. While strolling along the beach after dinner we were blessed by this magnificent sunset pictured in this highlight. This photo is shot with a 35mm analog camera with no filter or color enhancement. The picture really doesn't do it justice!
