With two unforgettable visits in 2011 and 2013, this little island between the coasts of Leyte and Cebu islands in the Philippines remains my favorite. With two stunning sand bars at its east and west sides, this virgin island has maintained its natural beauty. Surrounded by ultra-clear aquamarine waters, Kalanggaman Island has its rocky side to the north and the calm stretch of fine, white sand beach at its south side. With no running potable water and no electricity, I don't mind spending a night or two here with friends as our stories and laughter making music with the sound of the waves on a starry, starry night. It is quite a challenge to reach this island either from Cebu or Leyte but it is always worth it.
