Kunafa, an Arabian treat likely brought from Turkish Ottomans, comes in several varieties. Some is orange and others more neutral colors (I much prefer the bright orange version). Sometimes it's wrapped around the cheese, and other times it comes flat with the cheese on the bottom. Just Kunafa, with several locations in the UAE, may have one of the best recipes I've sampled.
Kunafa is made of shredded dough, stuffed with cheese and garnished with sugar syrup. I'm typically not a fan of cheesy sweets, but this beautiful snack is quite mild and very friendly to my taste buds.
