Until Crusoe Island lodge opened, there were sparse places to stay on this remote isle surrounded by miles of the empty Pacific. Located in front of Pangal Bay, only five minutes from the main town of San Juan Bautista by 4x4, this modern lodge with only 15 rooms was designed by renowned Chilean architect Matias Klotz.
While it still takes an adventurous spirit to arrive (2-hour flight in 7-seater plane followed by a 30-minute boat ride), this lodge pampers you while you explore the island's secrets. Set up to scuba with a local guide to see a centuries-old shipwreck, hike the peaks for vistas of the Pacific, or decompress in the spa or by the pool.
Bahia Pangal, +56 23 460 103, doubles from US$330 all-inclusive.
