It's not often, but about once or twice a year it snows in the Mojave Desert in California. My husband and I made the trek up there and waited for a few hours for the park to open. The wait was worth it. We went into the park and were able to see snow fields dotted with Joshua Trees with no visible footprints.
With no one around Joshua Tree National Park because of the weather, I found solace in the quiet, expansive desert.
